Tirupati is one of the most common pilgrimage trips from Bangalore. It is about 250 km, roughly 5 to 5.5 hours each way, so most families go for a night and a day. This guide explains the fare, the timing around your darshan slot and how to choose a vehicle.

Bangalore to Tirupati taxi fare (2-day round trip)

The estimates below use our listed AC per-km rate on the full 500 km round trip, plus 2 days of driver bata. Tolls and parking are extra.

One-way drop or round trip?

Most pilgrims book a round trip so the same driver waits and brings them back. If you are travelling only one way, for example a drop to Tirupati and a return by train, we can quote a one-way drop instead. Tell us your plan and we quote both.

What changes the fare

  • Vehicle type: a 12-seater costs more per km than a 7-seater, but is usually cheaper per person for a group.
  • One-way or round trip: a drop is quoted differently from a return journey.
  • Number of days: each day adds driver bata.
  • AC or non-AC: non-AC has a lower per-km rate.
  • Tolls and parking: charged on actuals and not part of the per-km rate.

Route and drive time

The usual route is via Kolar, Mulbagal and Chittoor. Expect about 5 to 5.5 hours without long stops. Book your darshan slot in advance and tell us the time, so we can schedule the pickup around it.

Best time to visit Tirupati

September to February. Weekends and festivals are very crowded.

What to see and do

  • Tirumala Venkateswara Temple
  • Sri Padmavathi Temple, Tiruchanur
  • Kapila Theertham

A simple plan

  • Night or early start: many travellers leave Bangalore at night or very early so they reach Tirupati before the darshan slot.
  • Tirumala: the drive up the ghat road takes extra time, so keep a buffer before your slot.
  • After darshan: Sri Padmavathi Temple at Tiruchanur or Kapila Theertham fit well on the way back.
  • Return: start after a meal and rest, since the drive back is long after a day of queues.

Tips before you book

  • Book your darshan slot in advance and share the time, so we can plan the pickup around it.
  • Weekends and festival days are very crowded, so book the cab early.
  • Tell us the number of people and elderly passengers so we choose the right vehicle.
  • Tolls and parking are charged on actuals.
